It’s important to prepare your body for exercise. Spend 5-15 minutes and elevate your heart rate above its resting rate. No need to overdo it, when your body starts to feel warm but can still carry on a conversation while on the treadmill, you’re good to go! Time to stretch those muscles.

I’ll get into specific stretches later, including foam rolling. After your workout though, remember to stretch your muscles for 5-10 minutes. It’ll help in removing lactic acid and reset your muscle fibers to a balanced state.
